About Alpha Phi Gamma

Alpha Phi Gamma is the first Asian Greek sorority established at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona on February 1st, 1994. The seven sisters who founded this sorority are Allex Choi, Candy Cunanan, Christine Nguyen, Sandie Rillera, Kolleen Kim, Grace Hsieh & Jennifer Oku. Each sister worked towards a common goal: to bring together all women of different nationalities through the bonds of friendship and sisterhood. Alpha Phi Gamma strives to promote Asian Awareness to the universities and surrounding communities. For those inspired to follow the footsteps of the founders, this organization promotes scholarship, accademic excellence, personal development & leadership.

Chapter History

The University of Arizona Alpha Phi Gamma legacy was established by six Sisters on June 20, 2000. This Charter class consisted of Annie Chiang, Haegyung Cho, Soogyung Cho, Jennifer Gardetto, Viet Huynh, and Amy Lai. Through all the adversity that they had faced, each Sister managed to maintain her sense of passion and determination to support this everlasting Sisterhood.  This created a strong foundation and example for Asian Americans in Arizona. We are hallmarked as the first Asian Greek Organization on campus as well as the state of Arizona. The University of Arizona Sisterhood was granted Delta Chapter status on May 26, 2002 by Alpha Phi Gamma's National Board.
